Life at the Call's

So what have the Call's been up to lately? Glad you asked.

Well, let's start with birthday parties for two girlies....

First, Clara turned 2. Where has the time gone? Chris asked, "Are we really going to have pictures of our daughter opening presents in a ONESIE and pajama bottoms?" Yes, honey, we really are.

She was thrilled to get a new Barbie.

Then Isabelle turned 10 and had a big "Fashion Show" birthday. This was seriously the best party ever. Everybody had a fabulous time. We invited all of her dance friends and I dare-say, they know how to "work it" on the red carpet. A little bit scary, actually.

Striking a pose on the "red carpet". See what I mean about scary?

We hiked up to Donut Falls one afternoon. So enjoyable!

The kiddos

Looking down at those of us who didn't go to the top. Namely Clara and me.

Getting back to school. You would never know it from this photo, but Eli was probably the most excited one of all for the first day. Eli-Kindergarte, Isabelle-4th, Jonah-2nd. And I never did get a picture of Caleb's first day of junior high.

Hamburgers and a Bee's game

Ward movie night on the lawn! Good times with fun neighbors.

This little girl got TIRED and GRUMPY and ended up falling asleep in my arms shortly after this picture was taken.

Happy Isabelle at the annual Foster Family Picnic

The Foster Family

Yes, Clara is still about as cute as they make them!

This is what Clara does...collects animals and creatures and princesses and dollys and Barbies. She made this line-up herself and then sat on the stairs for a good 20 minutes with her collection, doing...nothing. Just sitting with them.

Poor Caleb had his teeth pulled. Look at those roots!! Painful! And disgusting!

Aaaah, the cotton. Not fun.

Maizy got a haircut and looks silly.

We are happy and healthy and doing well! Over and out!
Okay, I officially start today :) I never posted my weight, so I never started last week. And that's how I am.

Saturday 9/19: 144.4 lbs

Until next week, my friends...
Wish me luck!

A little help from my friends!

Okay, so here it is: I CANNOT lose weight. What the heck is my problem? I have a serious lack of will power and day after day I decide to "start tomorrow". That obviously never happens and a new tomorrow comes and goes with zero success. I have been thinking and thinking, what can I do that will MOTIVATE me to actually lose my weight?
Well, I think I may have thought of something.
First, let me explain a few things. I HATE getting dressed. I HATE, hate, hate waking up in the morning and knowing that I will not look fabulous no matter what I decide to put on. I am completely uncomfortable in my own skin. There are chubby parts everywhere...I am very aware of it and it makes me very self-concious. Also, I never, ever, ever buy the cute clothes that I so desire, because I don't want to buy them in the size I am now. Remember, I'm always going to start "tomorrow". So, again, I never look as fabulous as I know I should :) I always buy what is on sale, which is usually not my style or anything I love. Dangit, NO MORE!!!!!
Here is my plan: I will be gung-ho for 60 days, exercise and diet. I will gain some control and prove to myself that I am not a weak little schmuck. I am quite sure that once I am in this routine, it will become permanent, with the occassional delicious slip-up. All things in moderation (after the 60 days of course), right?
I am going to have a weekly weigh-in and post it here. I will also post how often I exercised, which hopefully will be at least five times per week.
Please friends, help me along. DO NOT INVITE ME to a spectacular restaurant, or even a crappy restaurant. Hold off for two months. I need to build up my will power a bit before being able to say no. So just don't ask!!!
This is much needed for me. It is my biggest vice right now (and has been for years) and I intend on conquering it. My self confidence needs it!!
Starting today....! Weight post coming this evening. Yikes, embarrassing.

Look who's eight!

This was such a happy day for Jonah. He finally turned eight and was baptized by his dad. We had a great turn-out, lots of family and friends. I know that always makes things more special. Everything ran smoothly and the day was perfect. Great job, Jonah!

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple

This is a GORGEOUS temple, probably one of my favorites. I loved all of the stairs, the height, and the old-fashioned feel it had to it. Caleb loved the stairs too, just ask him :) We ended up having our own private tour after Caleb sliced open his chin (on the stairs), which actually was pretty cool. We were able to just wander the temple, in and out of rooms, completely on our own. We were both surprised to find vending machines in the worker training area. Who knew the temple had vending machines?

The family, minus Chris who wasn't able to go...

Poor guy!

PARK CITY

I have to lead this post with this picture just because it makes me smile EVERY time I see it. Isn't summer the greatest? Summer, family, vacations, laughter...

This has to be one of my favorite pictures EVER. The FOUR man tower!

When Casey returned home from his mission, we headed up to Park City for an over-nighter. We had an awesome condo, a bath-tub temperature pool, lots of family to play with, game-night, and an overall great time. Yes, my son left the trip with a staple in his head, but that didn't make the trip any less enjoyable. Getting away from home was just what the Call kids needed. Next year we all agreed to do it again, but this time for much longer. A tradition!

The trolley. Can you really visit Main St. without taking a ride?

Love this kiddo

She was a brave little fish

Eli's head wound...here's his staple. A tiny wound, but boy did it bleed!

The dads took the kiddos home and the girls SHOPPED. A great time had by all. I thought I was pretty under control until I hit the awesome sales at Old Navy and Children's Place. Those are normally not my favorite stores, but dangit, I loved every single thing I got. The kids will be oh-so-stylish this year :)

Look at all those bags. Ridiculous!

Family is the best.

Baptism post coming soon...
