This is why I love being a mom...

Sweet Eli and Abram gathered this lovely bouquet of "flowers" for me, then Eli took this picture of me and Abram and my flowers :) He's a great shot, eh? Well, I loved it.

New-do

So what do you do when you walk into the bathroom and find long, beautiful locks of hair laying by the potty?
And then when you say to your dear little boy, "Abram, did you cut your hair?" he just bursts into tears like he fears his life is over...
Well, I'll tell you what you do. Laugh, then discover just how short this new-do is and feel like crying just a bit. Aaah, well, it will grow back. I will not touch it and hope the top layer will cover it enough :)
And before you all look at these pictures, please know I didn't even confront my child in a mean or angry voice. In fact, I was calm and eerily pleasant with him. Maybe that's why he started to cry?
When I asked WHY on earth he chopped his hair he said, "I wanted to pretend I was somebody different for Halloween". Apparently, the mask and cape he was wearing during the kids fun game wasn't quite enough.

These is my words

I just read this, and for those of you who love to read, I highly recommend it!!! Such a great book, couldn't put it down!

Have you read anything lately that is a "must read"? I'm always looking for my next book! Let me know.

Spring Break Craziness!

We ended up driving to Wyoming to be with the cousins for Spring Break. The kids wouldn't even entertain any of my other ideas. We had a fabulous time and are very thankful to the Whitings for letting us crash their place! Here are only a few of the pictures from our trip. All of those kids crammed into one house = a loud and crazy and very good time for everyone!

This wasn't even all of the kids who actually ended up in the hot tub...we were able to ultimately fit 11 kids happily inside :)

Everyone kept making a run for the snow, then flying back into the warm water.

Lizzie and Clara. Let's just say these girls have a love/hate relationship at this point in their lives. They fought about EVERYTHING. They stole baby dolls from eachother, bullied eachother when they thought nobody was looking, squealed and poked when the other one got too close...:) You get the idea. Little do they know they are bound to be best friends within a few years!

All of the Whiting and Call kids on our first night.

This was our "Arts and Crafts" day...the kids had a great time letting their imaginations run wild. Apparently, Clara ended up eating a few of the art supplies as I later found fun little trinkets in her diapers.

Caleb and Micah are the greatest of friends. They spent quite a bit of time playing basketball.

This is all of the kids after our "Talent Show/Arts and Crafts Night". Good times!

More Caleb and Micah...they also spent a lot of time in front of the Playstation.

Lizzie and Clara in the bath...NOT FIGHTING!

Pictures!

Spring Break and Easter coming soon, but for now...

Wonderfully mediocre pictures of the Call kids five seconds before church started on Easter Sunday. No new dresses. No new handsome church clothes for the boys. Jonah couldn't open his eyes to save his life and Eli would only take ONE shot. Period. So here you have them...ENJOY :)

Spring Break

WHERE THE HECK IS MY SUNSHINE?!
This is the view from my front door on my first official day of Spring Break. Blah. I am perhaps going to take my children to Wyoming to visit the Whiting's if the weather ever lets up. As a "Plan B" I thought I may drive everyone to Santa Barbara for the week to see my Dad and Ann. But I'm guessing they might not love my very spur of the moment arrival on their doorstep (with seven people in tow)! That, and Chris thinks it's too far for me to go on my own with the kids. So, then I thought maybe to Arizona to visit Curtis and Lindsay. It's one hour closer than Santa Barbara. I suggested a quick trip to Disneyland. Chris didn't go for that, either. What to do? What to do? Mark my words, I WILL GO SOMEWHERE WITH MY CUTE LITTLE FAMILY!! I've got to escape my house! I would say I need to escape this weather, but if we do end up in Wyoming, I'm thinking the weather will actually be worse than this. So, I will just settle for any change of scenery.

And by the way, I'm up in the air about going private again. Maybe I will. Maybe I won't. I don't love the idea of any Creepy Critter out there being able to read my blog, but I have lots of family that would never look again if it were private. It's nice to keep in contact with them! So, I'm sure I'll get around to going private on a whim someday. Until then, well...it's not.
